Tests carried out on BELTAPPO samples:
European Common market protocols carried out in the CSI Chemistry/Physics laboratory have shown:
- Capacity for use in contact with liquid foods and alcohol, according to the Dm104dd 21/03/73 and further amendments, European directives 89/109EEC, 85/572EEC, 82/711EEC, 93/8EEC, 2002/16EEC, 2002/72EEC, 97/48EEC. Procedure followed: total immersion. Evaluation: <5PPm (limit value: 60+/-12).
- Determination of the specific migration of monometers present. The values established are within the norm.
- Determination of dye migration. The values established are within the norm.
- Determination of oxygen transmission rate. According to the ASTM F1307-90 regulation values established were as follows: 0.022 - 0.025 (02TR 23 C UR environment).
- Average value and standard SD deviation of the technical cohesive strength. Expressed according to the Newton system on extracted corks after an accelerated vintaging process with 22mm corks. Average value 259. Standard deviation 39.
- Pressure resistance due to external alterations or Frizzante wines. 22mm corks 1.8 bar, over 2 bars for 24 mm closures.
- Lubrication. The product used in cork lubrication fully complies with the following directives: 85/572CEE, 89/109/CEE and 90/128CEE for all substances which are to come into contact with foods. Its components are listed among those approved and authorized by the Food and Drug Administration, for use in contact with foods.
- Expander. The substance used complies with German regulations as well as those of the FDA.
